And the Sun it Shall Never Go Down....
And the Sun it Shall Never Go Down....
A friend's mother had this written in her Bible--is it a hymn? Does anyone know the title, or where we might find it?
Thanks for any help you can give!
"I have heard of a Land
On a faraway strand
In the Bible the story is told
Where cares never come
Never darkness nor gloom
And nothing shall ever grow old
In that beautiful land on the faraway Strand
No storms with their ------ ever frown
And the streets I am told, are paved with pure gold
And the sun it shall never go down"

And the Sun it Shall Never Go Down....
My mother sang a song about "the sun it will never go down in that valley".

And the Sun it Shall Never Go Down....
Almost sure this is the hymn
That Beautiful Land
written in 1889 by Mrs F.A.F. Wood-White
the music is by J. M. Hagan
I have heard of a land
On a far away strand,
In the Bible the story is told,
Where no cares ever come,
Neither darkness nor gloom,
And nothing shall ever grow old.
Refrain
In that beautiful land,
On the faraway strand,
There awaits us a robe and a crown;
In that city, we're told,
The streets are pure gold,
And the sunlight shall never go down.
There are evergreen trees
That bend low in the breeze,
And their fruitage is brighter than gold;
There are harps for our hands,
In that fairest of lands,
And nothing shall ever grow old.
Refrain
There's a home in that land,
At the Father's right hand;
There are mansions whose joys are untold;
There the ransomed will sing
Round the throne of their King,
And nothing shall ever grow old.

And the Sun it Shall Never Go Down....
The Salvation Army chorus sang this in Peterborough, 24/01/15, accompanied by fluegelhorn, tenor, euphonium and tuba: great sound
