I only know the chourus. I think this is the song you were looking for.
are you living in the shadow of the cross
where the Savior took your place
by the cross He'll lead us to that home above
there we'll see Him face to face

hope this helps!!!

The Shadow of The Cross

Is this the one you're looking for?

In the shadow of the cross let me hide,
There the Savior for my sins bled and died;
There the precious, cleansing fount
Flows so free from Calv'ry's mount,
In the shadow of the cross let me hide.

In the shadow of the cross I will rest,
For with everlasting peace I am blest;
Here I dwell in love unknown,
Streaming down from heaven's throne,

In the shadow of the cross I will rest.
In the shadow of the cross, blessed place!
Living only for the Lord, by His grace;
What He says I'll gladly do,
Ever standing firm and true,

In the shadow of the cross, blessed place!
In the shadow of the cross, safe retreat,
Ever sitting lowly at Jesus' feet;
While His presence is so near
I shall never, never fear,

In the shadow of the cross, safe retreat.
In the shadow of the cross, here I meet,
In communion with my Lord, oh, how sweet!
And my soul is borne above,
While I revel in His love,
In the shadow of the cross, here I meet!

I think this is the one you want.

THE SHADOW OF THE CROSS

As we journey on toward
heaven's shining goal.
We may suffer pain and loss;
Burdens only bring us blessings
if we live in the shadow of the cross.

On the tree of sorrow Jesus died for us all,
Took upon Himself our dross;
as I see Him there I long to ever live
In the shadow of the cross.

There are souls to rescue,
there are souls to save.
On the sea of life they toss;
May we be a light and teach them
how to live in the shadow of the cross

Chorus: Are you living in the shadow of the cross,
where the Savior took your place?
By the cross He'll lead us to that home above.
There we will see him face to face.

Yes this weeks Sunday School lesson made me think about this song. That relationship David had in God's word. Psalms 91

Before I met the Lord, I walked in darkness
so dark were the days, it seemed as night to me,
then one day the holy Spirit showed the the light of the father all around me,
and its here in his light i keep finding sweet victory....

Im standing in the the shadow of the cross
