Old folks, young folks everybody come

Post by bonnie moretto » Sat Aug 07, 2010 12:00 pm

This is a song we sang as kids. have been looking for years for the lyrics. it goes something like this
old folks young folks everybody come, please park your chewing gum and candy at the door and we'll tell you Bible stories like you never heard before:

Daniel was a fearless man who wouldn't obey the king
The king said he wouldn't stand for any such a thing
He threw him in a manhole, with the lions underneath
But Daniel was dentist and he pulled the lion's teeth!

this is one of the verses I remember but there are lots, lots more.

I don't know the title but would love to have all the verses. It would make my 80 year old mom's day. Please help thank you

Salome was a dancer, she did the hoochy cooch
She wasn't very moodist and she didn't wear too mooch
the king said"stop it, we'll have no scandel here" but
Salome said, "the he_ _ with you and kicked the chandelier!

The way we sang Salome :
Salome was a dancer, she danced before the kind
The costume she wore didn't amount to anything
King got excited and he began to cheer
Salome did a backflip and kicked the chandelier.

this is the final verse:
God made satin, satin made sin
god made satin a horrible place to live in
satin didn't like it said it would never work
and he's been acting like the devil ever sence

Long came Noah stumblin' in the dark
picked up a hammer and he built himself an ark
forty days and forty nights he sailed across the pond
but he kicked out the lion just because she was a blonde

Adam was the first man.. so we alll believe.
Then one day he was introduced to Eve.
He had no one to show him but he soon found out the way.
And that's the only reason why we're standin' here today!

Young folks, Old folks, everybody come.
Join our little Sunday school and have a lot of fun.
Please check your chewing gum and razors (raisins) at the door,
And I'll tell you bible stories that you never heard before.

Now, Adam was the first man invented,
but he never was so quite contented.
The good lord took a rib from his side,
and gave him a wife to tan his hide.

(Repeat beginning)

Oh, Daniel was an ornery little cuss.
He and the king had a mighty big fuss.
The king threw Daniel to the lions beneath,
But Daniel was a dentist; so he pulled the lion's teeth.

(Repeat beginning)

Noah was walking through the park.
Found himself a hammer and built himself an ark.
In came the animals two by two.
First the monkey, then the kangaroo.

(Repeat beginning)
