My mother taught me this song when I was about 5 years old and I sang it in evening worship - my first and last solo. I've never forgotten the experience and always called it, "Just a Tiny soldier."

As I recall the first verse goes, "Just a tiny soldier, going forth to war, with the cross of Jesus going on before." Then, "If I do my duty, He will surely stay, marching right beside me all along the way."

I Use to sing this to my son when he was a baby...now he is a marine...would like to find out more information such as Name of Hymn, Writter...any info appreciated. Learned it at a bible study years ago...remember it was out of a very old Hymnal! Thanks and God Bless!
