Just a tiny soldier
Marching for the Lord
In the Masters Army Loving Truth and Right

If you do your duty, he will be your shield
and will give you glory on the battlefield

Just a tin soldier of the King above
growing in His Glory, growing in His Love...

I Use to sing this to my son when he was a baby...now he is a marine...would like to find out more information such as Name of Hymn, Writter...any info appreciated. Learned it at a bible study years ago...remember it was out of a very old Hymnal! Thanks and God Bless!

My mother taught me this song when I was about 5 years old and I sang it in evening worship - my first and last solo. I've never forgotten the experience and always called it, "Just a Tiny soldier."

As I recall the first verse goes, "Just a tiny soldier, going forth to war, with the cross of Jesus going on before." Then, "If I do my duty, He will surely stay, marching right beside me all along the way."
