Absolutely the Cathedral Quartet sang this one, but it was before Kirk Talley left. I think it was on their "Live in Atlanta" album released sometime around 1983. We just about wore out that cassette tape!

A child of the king

Not sure, but I _think_ Gerald Wolfe's group (Greater Vision?) recorded this one, or maybe the Gold City quartet? No matter who, it's an encouragement to me to know our Father is over ALL and our Lord Jesus will indeed rule as King of Kings and Lord of Lords. "Even so, come Lord Jesus!"

As best I recall, the song was in either D or E-flat but it's been years since I've heard the song or seen the music. Regardless, the message is something we need to hear and heed! Every day we live is not only one more to live for Jesus, but also one day sooner to the end of our earthly journey.

Also, the Hoppers (may be Hopper Brothers and Connie) recorded this song and did a wonderful job. They may have a Youtube video but I haven't checked--I'd forgotten about this song, too, until just now!

Didn't the Stanley Brothers record this song (in a bluegrass format)? This may be a long shot, but try looking for Bluegrass gospel lyrics. There is a web site that has many lyrics for songs recorded by bluegrass artists (Stanley Brothers, Bill Monroe, and many others). Worth a look!

broadman hymnal - Swing Wide The Gates

"Does anyone know the lyrics of Jesus is coming " Not sure which version you're seeking. Way back in the early 70's, our youth group sang one, as published in a Word of Life (Schroon Lake, NY--Jack Wyrtzen's ministry) softbound hymnal. Lyrics, as best I recall, went something like this: So...

I remember this song was published in a songbook in the early 1970's, too. As best I can recall, it was in a spiral bound, maybe 100-song compilation. I don't recall the name of the book, sadly. There was a Gospel group from Athens, Ohio in the early 70's who had a Saturday morning program on WEMM-F...

Really a long shot, but I remember some large-format "sheet" music for use in either VBS or CEF or something like that. I mean, the words were large print and the sheets themselves were almost like cardboard/cardstock and they were almost as large as newspapers. Well, they would have had t...

Yes, it's "Like A River Glorious" by Frances R Havergal.

You can verify the lyrics and even hear a MIDI version of the score at the website or link below (you may need to copy-paste into your browser):
