Song with phrase "Oh I am a poor lost sinner"

Hi,

I am a church office manager. A older member of the congregation wrote down some of the lyrics to a favorite song that she remembered from years ago. I have tried searching online, but have not been able to find the rest of the lyrics, the title of the song, or any other information. Here is a portion of what she recalled:
"Oh I am a poor lost sinner
Before my Lord did fall
And in the name of Jesus
For pardon loud did call
He heard my supplication
And soon the weak was strong
Since Jesus took my burden
And left me with a song"

She wrote a bit more, again with the phrase "Oh I am a poor lost sinner" which leads me to believe that this may be part of the refrain. I think she would like to locate this song to keep in her file for her memorial service someday.

Can anyone help?

Can anyone kindly send me the lyrics of an old hymn "Jesus took my burden and left me with a song"

It is a beautiful hymn which we intend tosing in our Cathedral, this Easter. I am the organiser of the Choir and I am unable to get the lyrics. I heard it over our radio, it was sung by Slim Whitman.

What a blessing!!! Only yesterday 23/05/09, while having my morning devotion before work this old song which I had not heard for 20 years or more came into my spirit. After work, I searched all my old hymnals without success. I remembered the 1st verse the chorus and bits of the other verses. I feel thrilled knowing that this song is being an inspiration and encouragement to others at this time. Thanks so much for the lyrics. Be blessed in Jesus' Holy Name. Bedford UK.
