It IS Gary Mathena. I first heard this song as a young teenager. Mr. Mathena sang at our church revival one summer. It is amazing and has been a huge part of my life since.

My husband died in November last year and the Lord brought the words of the chorus to me afterwards. I have no idea where I heard it and no one I know ever heard of it. It was such a comfort to me.

Lean On Me is in the book America's 101 Favorite Old-Time Gospel Songs page 176. I play it at my church often. The words are beautiful and the cords are above the notes for whoever plays by ear.

Does anyone know where I could find the track?

I was luccky enough to find one copy that was published by Brentwood Publishing. Not sure if they still have it. I found it at a store in Texarkana, Arkansas and it was the only one he had. Check with Brentwood and see if they have it.
