I have heard this song for years, but I think the verses are wrong. Can someone give me the verses?

1) One day I started to follow Jesus not caring for worldly gain. Though sometime it seems that I couldn't make it. My head hung down in shame. The world around offering it's glitter, trying to dim my view. I started out & I'm going to finish this race I have begun.

Chorus:

Though rough the road, though steep the climb, still I'm going right on. Though the rivers I cross they seem so deep till it seems all hope is gone. Though the clouds hang low, the thunder may roll still I'm pressing on. Because I started out & I'm going to finish this race I have begun.

2) And as it is written Surely I'll find the strength to carry on for just when I need it a friend to guide me. I felt his hand holding mine. No rivers too wide not a mountain too high. That I can't overcome. Because I started out & I'm going to finish this race I have begun.

Actually, you need to turn the first line of verse 1 around. Instead of, "One day I started..." Say, "I started one day to follow Jesus

Thanks so much. I was really trying to sing the words but couldn't remember. My 9yr old granddaughter is appreciative. We have another song to practice and sing together. GOD bless!
