Starting out, meant to be sung very softly; then bursting forth loudly with Mighty, wondrous, loving, then quieter: He can calm our fears, then softly again: Holy, Holy, Holy, Holy is our God. This is a very old hymn and has several verses; was heard sung by a choir in 1973. Possibly written/ composed by Bach???

Music written by Franz Schubert. Title is: Holy is the Lord" but I don't have the lyrics that contain the phrase "He can calm our fears". Does anyone have them?

Holy, Holy, Holy, by Schubert. Original title in German: Heilig, heilig, heilig, from his Deutsche Messe. There are many variations on the lyrics. One which includes some of the lyrics you mentioned is:
Holy, holy, holy, holy is the Lord!
Holy, holy, holy, holy God adored!

God the uncreated, God who always was,
Endlessly exalted, reign forevermore.

Holy, holy, holy, holy is the Lord!
Holy, holy, holy, holy God adored!

Mighty, wondrous, loving, circled round with awe,
