Dear 1957belair,

We're glad you found us.
Yes this is not a gosple song but hopefully this is helpful
Here's the best we can do for lyrics:

So it’s goodbye New Orleans I hate to go
but that dad of her’s is meaner than a buffallo
and it’s not that I’ve done anything so wrong
but me and her Cajan dad can’t get along

Well about 6 months ago I made up my mind
I gotta leave New Orleans far behind
well a Cajan queen with a rough and ready dad
he done put the traveling fever in this here lad

I told my mom to pack up all my things
your lovin’ son’s gotta get outta New Orleans
i can’t fish no more and so I better go
Her peepaw shot a hole in my Pirogue

So it’s goodbye New Orleans I hate to go
but that dad of her’s is meaner than a buffallo
and it’s not that I’ve done anything so wrong
but me and her Cajan dad can’t get along

I’m sittin’ in Kansas City eating a big T-Bone
But my mind’s on filé gumbo way back home
I’d like to get that Cajan doll someday
But old Cajan dad just don’t see it that way

So it’s goodbye New Orleans I hate to go
but that poopaw man is meaner than a buffallo
and it’s not that I’ve done anything so wrong
but me and her Cajan dad can’t get along
