Re: Words to hymn "I Am Not Worthy the Least of His Favors"
Like you, this song came to my mind after my husband and I were watching a portion of Clarence Brown's "The Human Comedy" a very touching story about a poor family during WWII. We are watching it in small bits and each time afterwards, a hymn has come to my mind. Tonight it was
I Am Not Worthy
. I wanted to get all the lyrics and get to hear it sung. I learned this song when I was a member of a girls choral group at our church while I was in high school. I'm glad to learn the composer's name and will try to find her other songs and google them. I love the tune and the words.

I, too, have treasured this song since my youth. My sister sang it, I sang it, it plays in my head and my heart many times and many places, it finds its way into many sermons, it will be in an Adult Ed class I am teaching tomorrow morning. Few songs have had as great an impact on my life. BBB died on my birthday 7 years ago!

I heard this song for the first time at First Baptist Church downtown Dallas, TX when Dr. Criswell was pastor. His daughter sang it, and recorded it on a 33 rpm, I believe. I'll find it again.

I first heard this sun by Anne Criswell in FBC downtown Dallas, when Dr. Criswell was pastor. Here are the lyrics. She also has an album recorded with it and other great music, as well as finding a piano solo by the woman who wrote it, posted on YouTube.
Verse 1
I am not worthy the least of His favor
But Jesus left heaven for me
The Word became flesh
And He died as my Saviour
Forsaken on dark Calvary
Chorus
I am not worthy
This dull tongue repeats it
I am not worthy
This heart gladly beats it
Jesus left heaven to die in my place
What mercy what love and what grace
Verse 2
I am not worthy the least of His favor
But in the Beloved I stand
Now I'm an heir with my wonderful Saviour
And all things are mine at His hand
Verse 3
I am not worthy the least of His favor
But He is preparing a place
Where I shall dwell with my glorified Saviour
Forever to look on His face
