Muddy Sea of Sin
Muddy Sea of Sin
Verse One
Just drifting along-on the muddy sea of sin
knowing not the fate awaiting me
my loved ones were all gone-my friends had turned me down
and I was just a drifter on the sea.
Chorus
And somewhere above-this 'ole sea of sin and shame
I heard a sweet voice call my name
I knew it was the savior-the one who died for me
Jesus-who had taken all my blame.
Verse Two
It seemed in my life-that I could never win
that I had been caught up in the tide
just carrying water out-from this old muddy sea
searching for the dreams I'd never find.
Chorus
And somewhere above-this 'ole sea of sin and shame
I heard a sweet voice call my name
I knew it was the savior-the one who died for me
Jesus-who had taken all my blame.

Just drifting along-on the muddy sea of sin

It seems as thought there is another verse that begins --
I know that there are others drifting just as I ...
They'll not be a drifter anymore.
Does this sound familiar to anyone?
I know that there are others drifting just as I ...
They'll not be a drifter anymore.
Does this sound familiar to anyone?

My father, Earl Wheeler, wrote this song, in the mid 1960s, and recorded it with his wife, Louise, and my brothers, Ed and Don Wheeler, playing guitars, with Jack Lynch, the producer and owner of Jalyn Records, on bass.

This is the lyrics to the other verse mercysings was talking about
I know there are others drifting just as I
Knowing not the one that loves them so
but if they'll only listen to Jesus call their name
they'll not be a drifter anymore
I know there are others drifting just as I
Knowing not the one that loves them so
but if they'll only listen to Jesus call their name
they'll not be a drifter anymore
