The name of the song is "I've Got A Long Way To Go To Be Like The Lord"
The chorus:
I've got a long way to go to be like the Lord
I've got a long way to go to be like Him
I've never been spit upon, ridiculed, wounded in my side
Life's not a bed of roses, but still, I'm alive
I've got a long, long way to go to be like the Lord
The chorus:
I've got a long way to go to be like the Lord
I've got a long way to go to be like Him
I've never been spit upon, ridiculed, wounded in my side
Life's not a bed of roses, but still, I'm alive
I've got a long, long way to go to be like the Lord

Here are all the words, I'm not sure what is considered the verse and the chorus:
I don't remember trudging up a rugged hill,
With a cross upon my back.
I don't recall a thorny crown
Being placed upon my brow
Now that I look back
I've never been spat upon, ridiculed, wounded in my side,
Life's no bed of roses, but still I am alive,
I've got a long way to go to be like my Lord.
I'm traveling onward, upward, daily Lord am I,
On my way to victory.
And when I reach that city some morning by and by
Lord, remember me.
I want you to strengthen me, encourage me, deliver me I pray,
For I know my weakness, that is why I say,
I've got a long way to go to be like my Lord.
I've got a long way to go to be like the Lord.
I've got a long way to go to be like Him,
I've got to be merciful, dutiful, faithful and true,
Kind and just in all that I do,
I've got a long way to go to be like my Lord.
I've got a long way to go to be like the Lord.

the artist that recorded this song name is Randolph Seal. He and my Mother did a concert together back in 1974. She still has the record and she often listens to it . If you live in Columbus, Ohio my Mother is probably the women you heard singing it in church.

Words to two of the verses. I found a video of a lady singing it with another verse or two.
