I just saw some messages about this song. My great uncle, Roscoe Reed, wrote this song and many more. Another much recorded song of his is On Heaven's Bright Shore. Somewhere in my basement I have a book that has the words to some of the songs he wrote.

Hello! I am Roscoe Reed's grandaughter. His daughter, Linda, is my mother! After googeling his name, I came across this site and saw that several of you mentioned that you knew or were also related to Roscoe. My family and I would love to hear from you if any of you would be willing to send me an e-mail. We would love to hear any memories you have of my grandfather or if you wish to get in contact with his Roscoe's wife Virginia or their children.

My mom and dad (Adam Mondo and Anna Ruth Stanley)introduced Roscoe and Virginia while taking note singing lessons from Roscoe. There is a photo in my moms picture album of Roscoe and Virginia taken at Duncan Gap church, I believe, or could have been Tempies Branch, because Roscoe sang and taught at both churches.
